Assumptions

The Assumptions worksheet

This worksheet is used to enter several assumptions regarding your business. The entered assumptions (most are mandatory, some are optional) are used to make the necessary calculations throughout the workbook. They are therefore important and must be entered with the best possible data.

Enter the following data:

Company name

This is optional, but if you have or start a business you should have at least a GOOD company name? If you have one enter it here, if you don't start brainstorming and come up with a name for your business that is conform all basic marketing principles.

First year of calculation

This is carried throughout the whole workbook and sets the first year you start to plan for and adjust the following years accordingly. Dates are automatically placed wherever appropriate.

Select the overall numbers format (global setting throughout the workbook)

Thousands (x 1,000)
Select the 'Thousands (x 1,000)'  box, if you wish to enter the values divided by 1,000. This allows for larger numbers to fit the columns. If you select this option, all financial sheets will then show: (all numbers x 1,000) on top of each table.
Actual values
Or you select the 'Actual values' box, and the numbers entered are the real amounts. This can be used when the numbers do not exceed 6 to 8 digits. The additional comment is then left out of the sheets.

Note: if you prefer to enter values x100, select the x1000 setting, then select the cells in each sheet on top of the tables where the (x1,000) appears and change the formula by changing the x1000 into x100 in the formula bar.

Enter the number of product lines and products desired

Use the generator to adjust the Sales projection worksheets to the desired number of product lines and products. You can generate up to 5 product lines and 8 products per product line. If you need more product lines or product rows, you can upgrade the workbook with the Executive version. The Executive version offers up to 10 product lines and unlimited products per product line. The generator will update all existing data throughout the workbook. Though thoroughly tested, we advice you to use it wisely. In choosing the number of products consider that the defined print areas under the Print buttons need to fit the predefined print areas on one page. If there are too many products this will render unreadable printouts. In this case you can resort to Selecting areas to print and using the conventional Print commands.

Name the product lines and the products or services

The standard workbook accommodates up to 5 product / service lines or markets, and up to 8 products or services for each of these lines or markets. If you need more product lines or product rows, you can upgrade the Standard workbook with the Executive version of this workbook.
